Oils & Dot Paintings
My idea of using a cross hatching painting technique to try to blend the paint colors while keeping them all separate was not working for me. So I started to develop a style using dots and acrylic paint because each layer of paint needed to dry quickly. I would cover the canvas with one color. Then I would paint a grid pattern of dots in another color. Then I would paint another grid, slightly to the side of the lower layer of dots, etc. The colors would blend and swirl in the viewer's eye yet not be actually blended together on the canvas. It was very painstaking work. After a while I experimented with silk screening using this technique. Then life moved me along into other artistic directions. But these remain interesting to me. I did many of these but only a few have survived.
